About Me
I started J Gattis Consulting to help small and mid-sized arts and culture nonprofits thrive. So many of these organizations are founded by people deeply passionate about their mission and the work itself but building the systems and fundraising structures to sustain that passion can feel overwhelming. My goal is to take that weight off your shoulders by creating practical and efficient systems that support both your staff and your vision.
My path into arts administration began after years of working as a classical musician and teaching artist. I loved the work, but I also saw firsthand how much energy was lost to inefficient systems and under-supported fundraising efforts. Wanting to understand that side of the field more deeply, I pursued a degree in Arts Administration at Columbia University. I’ve spent over a decade as a development strategist and administrator, leading CRM conversions, designing fundraising strategies from the ground up, and helping organizations grow during pivotal transitions.
At the core of my work is a commitment to clarity, efficiency, and sustainability. With clear systems, aligned goals, and the right tools, teams can build momentum without burnout and fundraising can become focused, collaborative, and sustainable.
